Hi Gordon -

I'd be glad to edit and I am in for purchasing three copies of the book.

I write for "The Thoughtful Christian" and have a book "The Worshiping Life" through Westminster/John Knox Press. I'll send you a copy.

I've received enough rejections to make prayerflags up the side of Mount Everest. I feel your pain. And I still laugh out loud thinking about your 'recliner' made of brown boxes you purchased of your first essays. (Those were wonderful, I used them in our Deacon's training.)

Anyway, I would be honored to help if you'd let a Presbyterian pastor into the mix.

Gordon,

I don't know if you are interested or not since you might be starting your own publishing company but
one of the avenues that I am considering is co-publishing. Creation House is a Christian publishing company by Strang Communications Company. They do everything that a traditional publisher does except they do not pay an advance. They also require that you agree to buy a certan number of books. This way the cost of publishing is covered by both the author and the publisher. When the book is published, they advertize it, put in the major distirubion chains, etc. The author, once the expenses are paid, gets a greater percentage of the profits. It is a win-win situation. The Execuitive Editor is a friend if he is still there. Allen Quian and I trust him explicitly. Thier web page is http://www.creationhouse.com/.

G
theres no reason I can see why consafo cant consider manuscript submissions from other people for publishing also. Manuscripts could be submitted and the group can review them and edit them and decide to publish them based on a voting kind of thing. all very vague i know and sounding like an normal publishing house, except this is us - the little guys - doing it to help each other.
maybe this little idea can spark some others creative juices on how this might work.

Gordon,

This is exciting! I'd buy at least one advanced copy if not more. And I would love to work as a proofreader or editor. I do not have any "professional" editing experience, but I have done quite a bit for our church. Honestly I think I'm pretty good at it and would love to help you if you are interested.

This whole thing is something I could really get into and have always wanted to try. Let me know if I can help.

Gordon, with all the work you are doing, you would need very little extra to go to ebook format as well. It makes buying outside USA lot easier and gets the instant market. I'd be glad to help in bits of this. Andrew Prior.

I love it! I can't get any agents or publishers to bite on my stuff. Something new is clearly in order in the world of publishing. This sounds as good as anything else I've seen. I LOVE to write my own stuff, but I'm actually a pretty good editor. I'm in if you'll have me.

Gordon.

I don't know how much editing/publishing help I can lend, but I can sign up for say five (5) copies of the book. It sound like fun (and a lot of work for you.)
